We took a harbor cruise here in Charleston SC. It was dreadfully boring, but I learned that this was the ship that BMW uses to transport the X-series crossovers to various destinations from their Spartenberg factory.

I've been to the Museum built into the factory before. Good stuff.
I pass it every year on my way down South.

Here in Columbia, SC i am often stopped at railway crossings while trainloads of new BMW's head across the state from the factory to the port.

Crossovers make BMW a shit-ton of money which means they will sell us a 328d wagon and not worry about only selling less than 1000 units a year.

Is that entire statement actually true, or are you just fantasizing about a future Jalop utopia?

Well yeah. BMW makes a ton of money from crossovers which means that selling the 328d/328 Wagons in the USA is viable despite their very low volumes

Ahhh. Gotcha. I'll be in Charleston for the next couple of weeks for school, then making a 16 hours drive back up to CT. I have yet to 'meet' anyone on here in Charleston, though I'm sure there have got to be a few. Enjoy Savannah. It's a really cool city, and I always spot some cool, old cars when I'm there.

Maybe that's why the X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6, and X7 exist?! THEY'VE BEEN PLOTTING TO SELL DIESEL WAGONS HERE FOREVER.

Have you spotted any cool cars in Charleston? I saw like 2, which is disappointing considering the money in that town. Though wagons are very popular, tons of JSWs, E350 wagons and Volvos

I haven't seen a huge amount of cool cars, but I've seen a huge amount of pretty nicely done cafe racers. Some are a little ratty, and then some are almost up to the Seaweed and Gravel standard. My buddy actually just picked up a 1970-something Honda CB750 to mess around with. As far as cars, I've seen one 12c, eleven Ferraris in one day (but not a single Ferrari any other day... wtf), and this:
I spoke to the owner for a couple minutes. He has a shop on John's Island. I could tell he was psyched that I was so excited about his car. Ahaha

That sounds familiar... I'll check it out! Did you happen to go to Butcher and Bee while you were here? If not, if you're ever in the area again I would highly recommend it. They ruined burgers for me. I don't know if anything will ever be as good.

I drove an Estoril blue 328d with red interior today.
It was very jalop.
