I made this little display for use at car shows. Is it dumb? I kind of dig it.

Can't fault it, tbh. I'd get a 1:18 scale Series II Land-Rover to put on mine forwith to take to shows, but I can't seem to find one I like.

I think people do that to get attention from the judges at shows. I think it's "display" points.

While I may think these display points are silly, model cars are a million times better than this shit.

Thanks. I took that big GT40 to the paint shop to pick out my blue, and to the vinyl place to pick out my stripe color :)

Yeah, I'm also on the fence about that one.

That's the territory that I don't want to get into, the cheeseball crap.

Also, a lot of people who I show the car to don't know what the Gulf racing livery is. I know, the humanity. I figured having these would give someone a reference, and realize I'm not some nut job that slapped stripes on his car. Which, now that I think about it, I am.

Not that my opinion is worth any more than the dirt on your shoe but stuff like that "kiddies" up a car.

95% of outdoor shows are people's choice and sponsor picks, so its mainly what attracts peoples eyes. thats how a 5k build can win against a mullion dollar build is based on the populations taste at acparticular show. Indoor shows are points based but not with the dumb baby dolls and stuff like that. It comes down to other things in a points based show.

The blimp is awesome!

Personally, I'm not a fan of displays like that cause I think the car should speak for itself, but it's not my car so do what you do!

I also want to see more pictures of your car! Mustang, right?
