We're going back to 4 lugs. Think to how much weight saving Mazda will do to it.

Awesome! I am anxiously awaiting the day of new Miata.

It's today according to Mazda. The dealer told me about a 25th anniversary edition Miata that was coming soon months ago...I didn't trust them...looks like they we're right. It looks good too.

Electric power steering. I can hear the complaints already.....

that steering rack looks huge. Hopefully not electronic.

Still looks better than this.

I'll be happy. I won't be thinking that I made a bad decision by buying an NC lol.

A Miata is a Miata. It's awesome no matter what generation.

My Mazda 3 electric steering was good but after driving my NC, it felt really light. Maybe too light. I just hope Mazda won't do the same mistake.

You got that right. But it's still to see.

I bet it is. If Mazda wants to save as much weight as possible on the new MX5. They said that it will weight 2200lbs if I recall.

sigh.... I guess when I think about it, it does save on a hydraulic pump etc.... But the feel, man. it will have no soul. (I've never driven a miata so this is wild speculation)

So far all Miatas felt like Miatas. Even the NC...even though the hardcore NA fans think it isn't. I feel that the electric steering will give the ND an NA's "light on it's feet" feel that we NC owners crave. Also we get less maintenance and more power. Hydraulic power steering steals about 8-10 HP. We win but yes...we'll lose a bit of feedback, just a bit.

I, for one, think that looks incredible. Far better than the cocaine-addict NC.
I'd do away with the weird cheek dimples in front of the wheels, but not sure what else...

You got it wrong. The NA was the cocaine addict.

Well they nailed it in the RX-8, so we have that to hope for.

I hope they make it more usable for the vertically superior.
And is it sad that part of me would rather have this on my wall than the whole car?

Not sad at all hahaha. They noticed on the test mule that the door was longer. They probably will have more space.
I love you but I've chosen hooning!

For some reason, I really, really hate it. It looks terribly generic and grown up.

It doesn't matter if its an NA, NB, or NC, a Miata is easy to spot from any angle, even at a distance. This looks like a 2-seat Sebring vert. Thankfully, it's just somebody's wild assed guess what the ND might look like.

The Sebring comparison, while cruel, is appropriate!
