I noticed too.
I honestly think it's due to Tiger. It can't be a coincidence that Oppo usage went down after the Tiger update and hasn't fully recovered. Oppo can be very difficult to use on mobile now. And even desktop browsers can struggle with posts that have a ton of comments.

I have been a lot more busy. But I will confess Tiger has stopped me from going through the comments quite often, so I don't comment half as much as I used to.

I've been mostly MIA lately, with only a little occasional lurking. Part of it is simply that I have been busy with work/pregnant wife/physical therapy/working on my house. Part of it is that I don't really like the new commenting system. Part of it is that there seems to be less interesting discussions going on (which I am guessing is a byproduct of the new commenting system).

I've noticed a sharp decline in the quality of the discussions as well. I'm not sure its entirely Tiger's fault, but it sounds like it might be a bigger factor than I thought.

I haven't been in much partly because of less topics specific enough to the "require backbiting from me" subcategory, but also because I didn't get back into the swing of things for work week commenting Monday. It's weird, the busier I am at work, the more I comment. When I don't have things to avoid so much, I comment less.

Yeah, its hard to tell exactly what is going on. I can say that, for me, the biggest factor is simply that I am busy. However, when you combine that with my frustrations with the new commenting system, it really seems to compound things.

yeah, I've found its pretty rough just to make it to best of Oppo these days. But more than that, I feel like Kinja has turned it into content generation pool where everyone is trying to emulate the writing style of the front page to get published, or spilling over their car blogs here.

Someone gave me a massive size bottle of JW Black. Not the fanciest Scotch in the world. But it's tasty.
I'm still kind of new to Scotch so my taste isn't refined enough yet to appreciate the really good stuff.
