Fun Fact: Bohemian Rhapsody is perfect for testing a new sound system because it has the full range of highs and lows of both vocals and instruments.

One of my favorite tests for close to a full spectrum is Battle Without Honor or Humanity. A friend likes the Gorillaz "Clint Eastwood" for bass tests.

Interesting.
I like using "The Colour and the Shape." as well as a few Bob Rock produced records to dial in mine.

Yeah, not many songs have a gong in them. Much to T. Rex's chagrin. I do have to say that I don't remember any really low bass or really high soprano vocals but Freddie did have one hell of a range so I don't doubt it.

I've been using Audioslave, "Cochise" to test for a few years now - it's got good bassline at the beginning, lots of Tom Morello midrange, then Chris Cornell in full scream.

At the company I've helped do live shows and component installs, we typically use "Hey Nineteen" by Steely Dan, "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd, and "Pick It Up And Put It In Your Pocket" by Stand Ridgway to check the systems.

Another couple to check your stereo (literally, your left and right ...) are Frankenstein by Edgar Winter Group, and Eleanor Rigby (the L and R channels are verrry different in that tune).
Really though, if I learned anything from setting up and running live rigs, use a song you know, and you know well. That way, when something is wonky, you'll know quickly.
