But I wanted to share this again. I hate how I stay up really late and live on the west coast. It means my early morning posts are hardly seen. I think these are my favorite shots I've taken.

Ok I've added you. A small collection is the best collection. You don't want to end up in diecast rehab

I know! I don't have a lens quite right for this stuff. I was using a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 cheapo thingy majig. I want to get a lens that's got a lower aperture because right now I have a 1:1.8, a 1:3.5-5.6 and a 1:2.8, so I've got nothing with a wide enough closeup DOF to really get all of a car in any rotation in focus. I'm saving up for a new lens, but I don't really know which one I'm gonna get yet, especially considering that money is an object and that photography is just a hobby.

If you'd focused on the front wheel instead of the back wheel, I think you would have gotten the look you were going for. I have that same lens - fantastic for the price - but it can be challenging to get your shot just right with its shallow depth of field. If you're looking to get the whole car in focus, just close your aperture some, and that will help. Wider the aperture, the shallower your DOF.

I had my aperture as closed as really worked with the lighting I had there.
