Download peaking at just over 4mb/s, averaging right around 3MB/s. 4GB in just under 30 minutes... I remember when that would have taken a few days.

the fact that you think that is fast shows how badly the cable companies have everyone conned.

Hahah true. But by residential standards around here it's damn good.
At least I'm not footing the bill for it!

Stupid question, is Mb the same as MB? I got 290 Mbps on the speed tester for download, not actually downloading something right now.
edit: looks like MB=megabyte, Mb=Megabit?

Usually Mb refers to megabit(1000 bits) and MB refers to megabyte(8000 bits).

Definitely should understand this by now after seeing it a few times and a couple classes it was mentioned in but I just haven't gotten it down. Thanks.

But you have to remember that those speed tests don't necessarily represent the real world speeds you'll see.

And I'm retarded, brainfart happened, Mb is 1 *million* bits, and MB is 8 *million* bits

Right, that's why I mentioned I wasn't actually downloading something.

I get 60mb down and about 25up. But no servers ever allow me to download that fast

I'm trying to remember how long it took me to download a CAD program, but I can't remember. It was fast. I need to find something to download to see.

I'm sitting at 75/25 on those tests right now.

I was acquiring some CAD software myself this time, completely legally of course...

even 290Mb/s sounds ludicrously high. South Korea and HK have the highest average internet connection, and they rarely get over 100Mb/s
