Now we all know the hype around movie and TV cars- The Batmobile, Ecto-1, Sonny Crockett's Ferraris…….however, sometimes, even if only for a second, completely random vehicles get cast into the pop culture limelight- my vote goes to Billy Carter's (the lovable fuckup redneck brother of president Jimmy Carter) Chevy C-10, or, "Redneck Power". It was used in promotions for Billy Beer (even though he was a PBR man), Revell made a model kit of it, and it was B.C.'s daily beater for awhile. So I ask you, Oppo- can you think of a more random "star car"?

1967 Impala from Supernatural
Two universal badasses would usually drive something like a Mustang (which they originally were supposed to) but no, just a big ass sedan with a thumping V8, and not even the big V8. It's got the 327. Plus, you could've gone with a more popular year, like '64, but nope, '67.

The Hruck Bugbear from The Middleman. It was advertised in the show as the "poor mans Yugo."

I unashamedly love the Yugo and almost bought (probabley the cleanest in existence) for $8,000 after my Aurora crapped out on me. My mom convinced me to go the sensible route and now I drive a 2012 Sonata with 3 pedals and 6 speeds.

In a similar sense, I'd nominate the 1968 Oldsmobile Cutlass S from 1987's Beverly Hills Cop II
Usually, you'd expect a star Cutlass of this generation to be a 1970, and either a Supreme or 442.
Nope, it's a mid-range 1968 S. The only thing that would make it more random would be for it to have been a base F-85.

I don't think I could spend $8,ooo on a Yugo, but I certainly wouldn't mind owning one at one point. I think you made the better choice.

DUDE! The thing was concurs ready! My dad was gonna buy a 900 vert from the same guy. His name was Zoltan. I'm pretty sure he was ex-KGB and russian mob connected.

I'd have bought something from him just because of his name. The salesman who sold me my GTI was named Dragan. Pronounced, "dragon." I couldn't not buy it at that point.

It came down between that 900 (1987, turbo, 5 speed, red leather interior, white exterior) and the Viggen for my dad. He went with the Viggen.

The French Connection is one of the all-time great detective movies, and it has a car as an essential element to the plot line. More importantly, a very cool car. Yet the car's roll was downplayed to the point where no one remembers it. So let's remember it now. Three cheers for the Lincoln Continental Mark III!

The viggen, 3 years and 190k miles later (now at 270k!) Is fast as ever, thanks to his father in law who is a tuner who worked on the tuning for caddy's new TT V6. Dyno'd at 390 to the front wheels. on a daily driver. I'm afraid to drive that car like anything other than a grandmother. He comes home after a year in europe on the 28th and I have to give the Saab back to him. it'll be bittersweet. He may sell it. (He's wanted a DB7 since they were new and now that he's almost 50 he feels it may be time to make good on that dream.)

We watched that movie on my 10th grade "Film as Literature" class. I wrote my final on why the Mark III was the best for the role. I got a 98%!

1933 Ford Pickup in the Rocketeer. Movie was horrible but seeing a 32-34 Ford Pickup in the movie makes me like it. It's the only reason either my grandfather and I watch it because of this truck.
