Earlier !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! that I was waiting for the dealership when I had an appointment. After 2 hours, the service adviser came to me to tell me that... they had lost my tires. When I bought my car CPO they offered to store my summer wheels free of charge (since January) and apparently since it was during a sales transaction, no one remembered to mark the bin on the service record. So now I have to go back tomorrow to have them installed. Hopefully it's not another 2 hour wait and maybe I can coerce them into giving me free installation. Come on, Tesla! (actually come on, I-need-a-garage-to-do-my-own-service)

shameless thread jack, but y'all are car guys, so I hope you'll help anyways.

I was looking to buy a 2015 wrx in fl and was quoted 28,345 otd. Went to dealer today and he said that price was erroneous, but wanted to do his best. He said 29,200.

I walked out. Did I goof?

One of the 3 main dealerships in Ottawa, in the west end. It hasn't been the best experience since purchase but if it's bad tomorrow I'll name and shame them haha.

I think it's the one in my part of town, I guessing it's M-M-M-M-M-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-E-E-E-E-R-R-R-R-S-S? If it's them, They almost ripped me off for $1000 last year for two OEM front struts for the TDI.

I bought a set of new Bilsteins for $330 last spring from a specialist near Hunt Club.

Ha! You nailed that one. I forgot you're from this neck of the woods. Normally I go to Bytek and they've been great but Myers had the Golf I wanted back in December. They dropped the ball after the sale in terms of communication and I live in the east end so I likely won't be going back unless I have to.

Wow I totally didn't notice it was you that posted that. Fortunately it wasn't them but Zippy nailed it anyways.

I don't think so. Some dealers probably give you a great price to get you in the door and then realize it's lower than they can accept and try to get you to forget it.

Not unless you had to have the car asap, in which case you probably wouldnt've walked out. Walking out is the only solid tool you have to get them to lower the price. You can always go back in a few days and ask them if they're willing to come down, or accept the price they offered last time. Don't sweat it, there's plenty of other fish in the sea anyway.

Kanata is a long ways to go for a tire install if you live in the East! Usually I put my tires on myself (separate wheels) although since I have now had knee surgery I may get the mechanic to do it.

I think Myers also has a Chevrolet dealer out there. When I tried to get an exhaust bracket from them they said "they had nothing that could help me" (I guess because I have an aftermarket muffler)...so my muffler has been held on by pipe clamps ever since.

Do post tomorrow about the outcome, hopefully they didn't sell your tires or put them on another car. Oye.

My previous Golf had 15" steelies but this one has 17" alloys so I'm hoping that by purchasing separate winter rims I can save some money by either installing them at work (we're building a machine shop in the warehouse) or going to a more general tire place. Most likely I'm going to store them at my parent's place in Cambridge and have them installed during my seasonal visits. Cambridge VW has been great so far.
