Began working on the family car after asking for some !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (Thanks guys)

I started by feeling for play in the suspension and giving every bushing a good check over. Overall good bill of health although it looks like a new CV boot is in its future since it seems to be allowing grease out and probably dirt in. This seems to be due to the fact the old CV boot is one of the cheater ones which are split so they go over the joint and are sealed afterwards, this one is not sealed well.
Anyway I found that the brake pads on the car which were fitted at the same time had a huge difference in wear, with the passenger side close to gone and the drivers side in fairly good nick. Okay I thought I'll take the wheels off tomorrow and have a good look, while I'm here I'll pop the hood and check the fluids. That's when the fun began.
I pull the hood release, hear the latch pop and see no movement from the hood. I try pushing on the hood while my brother pulled the release and what not, nothing.
So i dismantle the release pull and take out the cable and yank it with some pliers, awesome it popped up and all the fluid levels were spot on. I spray WD40 over the latch mechanism close the hood and check whether I can still open it by yanking the cable... nope. It is now well and truly stuck shut, trying to fix that tomorrow will be fun.
So I admit defeat and shut the driver's door hearing as loud crunch, this was the derp moment I had been waiting to happen, since I have one every time i wrench on something. The fuse box door is on the side of the dash and I had opened it to gain access to the hood release. I had also forgotten to close it before slamming the door.
I slap duct tape on the fuse box door and head in defeated. Life eh?

I must apologize for having a bit of a chuckle at your expense. Seriously though, I have a derp moment every time I wrench as well. I always start off calm and patient before it goes to full blown ape-shit-zoolander.

I prefer when people get a laugh out of my derp moments, means at least something comes of them...

*Grins, because something similar happens to me*. Me and Mr. Murphy are well acquainted.
