Hey Guys,

So I did a thing ... started up a little parts business in preparation for my daytime job ending in 2 months - called !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! (story on the name to come later). Starting with consignment to see how it goes with the hopes of turning it into full time. Got a few Porsche gauges and such ... also some custom models I think the crew here may appreciate. To start, I am concentrating on Porsche.

Anyways, I met a guy who has a huge die cast collection and likes to customize a various sort of model cars. Fast forward a little bit and I took six off his hands to place on my website - 356 B's all done up in various livery's and combinations.

While the livery's aren't historically accurate, I find them very unique and having the outlaw flavor. Removing the bumpers and center caps and just having fun with some decals. I am also quite impressed by the attention to detail on these models.

Long story short... give my store a click and tell me what you think of the models and the website in general. This is very early stages so any input is appreciated! My computer here at work won't let all the gallery features work on the item pages and such - so let me know if you encounter any problems like that!

Anyways, thanks for checking it out and stay tuned for Porsche nerd goodness to come!

the only thing that I could see is staying away from livery's that are specific to a different car such as #4 which I think is Afla(?). Also try to be specific and thorough on years and makes. Some of the gauges don't have any of that info. Even if its all years I'd put that. just so the buyer can be sure. Just being picky, it can't hurt.

Very cool layout. Hopefully you can find enough parts and sell at a profit.

i'd also shorten the homepage so the screen fits without the scroll bar. There is a black line at the top and bottom of the images that are not consistant. I'd remove those and leave just the thick black lines directly above categoies and in the header. I'd move the thicker black line above categories up to make the page fit on the screen without scrolling. I have some design backround so i'm really gettin into details 99% peoplpe probably won't notice. Dont take this too harsh as the website overall looks very good and pro.

Hey picky is a good thing - I expect the people buying these parts to be picky too. I will work some more on the gauge info tonight - thanks for the input!

Some of the pictures got out of sorts and are on the wrong gauges too. Noticed it this morning. Teething pains!

you should make sure the scolling images are the same dimensions. also i'd take home|shipping|blog off the bottom as its already in the header. That could help you with the page length. I did a website once so I know ghanging some of that isnt as simple as pressing delete.

Haha you noticed that huh? I will fix that ... it is off by a little bit! Thanks for the suggestions! I will dig into the platform and see if I can get rid of that.

Yes consignment to get out the teething pains and iron out the process then the goal is moving from consignment to inventory/drop shipping.

I will have to dig into the platform (BigCommerce) to see if I can shorten the page - maybe deleting the links at the bottom will do this like you mentioned. Part of the reason for posting it here was so people who have an eye or a background in the web development department will see it and critique - much appreciated!

its a slow day at work so i was staring at the screen pretty intensely. If someone is there to look for parts they arn't gunna notice this stuff.

One thing: please put the scale of any models/collectibles in the description and as a product attribute (alongside weight and SKU). It's nice to know that they weight 3 lbs., but how big are they?

Good luck with your new business!

Very cool. I actually just recently picked up a couple Bburago 356 Bs (one for my dad, and one for me - he had one as a young guy) as well as a GT3 RS 4.0. My first "real" diecast models I'd ever bought.

Congrats on the new business - all the best.

Ooh. Sticking to the older models or are there any plans to include 944 stuff?

Nice website, needs more parts!

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.

That's real virtual when stating you'll ship it to any address in the world but some products could not be shipped international. I would re-phrase this in something like 'Worldwide Shipping, international buyers please contact us prior to checkout'.
