By a side mirror.

Kinja'd!!!

Yes, that is tape holding the glass in my passenger mirror.

Backstory: My mom and her friends took my van down to the Lake of the Ozarks this weekend and decided my mirror looked better without glass in it. So they super glued the glass back it, CROOKED may I add, and held it on with tape.

So when she got home I tried to take the tape off to see if the mirror held. Nope. So I cleaned up the tape work to make it look like there isn't any. It looks okay now, but a new problem has showed up: the mirror rattles the entire time I drive, and it's very audible with the windows down. Which is how I have to drive when it's warm because the AC doesn't work.

Now I have to pay for two new mirrors (did I mention she broke the drivers side black plastic cover the last time she went to the lake?) a set of two runs about $60 for non-OEM.

TL;DR: Don't let your mom and her girlfriends take your car road tripping. They make a mess of it and break things.

If I could only express how many times I have had to fix the side mirror on my wife's car because she whacked it backing out of the garage!

epoxy and duct tape are holding the entire housing together right now. She broke the mounts on the inside so I used epoxy to get the mounting sorted, then duct tape to hold it in place while it dried. One dry, bolted it altogether and mounted but used duct tape to fix the plastic clips that hold the trim in place...

Looks perfect, but I hate knowing the truth of it on the inside.

My mom broke like a total of 7 side mirrors in the 10 years she daily drove this before she got her Vue. Hasn't broken one on the Vue yet, but it's coming.
