So I've heard that a few people like the BMW M1. Well today I present to you 1 of 10 to ever receive the rare AHG package and it can be yours for the low price of only € 229,500 (nearly $319,000). Even if you can't afford it, at least you can enjoy the pictures and wonderful video below.

Who else is glad this car's MR successor died so the X6 could live? Who else? I request a show of hands!
If I ever get a time machine, nevermind killing hitler; thats what I'd fix.

It's alright.
According to quotes from then AHG/BMW Motorsports Division president Peter Gartemann the modifications included: The 3.5 Liter 277 HP was upgraded to 350 HP, racing clutch, special exhaust, front air dam with brake ducts, wider front and rear fenders, side skirts, special rear wing, adjustable height suspension, BBS wheels, Cibie lights, full leather seats and special paint.

Thanks :)
I wonder what happened to the seats in that one then...
I also wonder why so few buyers opted for the package.

Probably because it was quite expensive back in the day. For instance, in the article, it claims that the car just had its engine rebuilt for over $40,000.

How could you not love the X6 with its masculine grille, beautiful sloping roofline, and twin turbo power? It is any true enthusiast's dream car. I can't believe you would want another plain old MR car.

I bet you could kill Hitler and the X6 in one trip if you planned things very carefully.

You will be laughing at this story. On Saturday I drove to my friend's house in West LA. He drives an X6. I never make fun of his X6 because he doesn't know anything about cars. He just bought it because he's filthy rich and nobody else had them when they first came out.
I had driven my E90 M3 there. Later that night he asks me:
"Why do you have such a shitty car?"
I nearly fell over laughing. He thought it was a standard 3 Series. I tried very briefly to explain what made it different and then gave up. I just didn't care enough to continue the conversation because he just wouldn't get it no matter what I said. He equates cars with class so it will never in a million years make sense to him that I would drive something that was based off a common entry-level luxury car. It doesn't matter how fast it is or how well it handles. It doesn't matter that I'd rather drive a smaller car that's easier to park and drives more like a sports car.
That night summed up why the X6 exists. It's more rare and expensive than the X5, which itself is more expensive than the X3, which happens to be pricier than the X1. The X6 is the perfect car for some BMW owners because it looks sporty and shows the world that they have money.

I never knew either until now. Very cool to know this. Seems like the M1 with the AHG package was the real exotic that the M1 was supposed to be.

Sorry I didn't write to back to you earlier. My account was acting odd and wouldn't let me log in.
I feel sorry for your friend as he seems to be quite oblivious. Haha.
I didn't know you had an E90 M3. Very nice car.

No worries! I was actually having a problem too for a few days before my last comment. Kinja wasn't working on mobile at all for me and I mostly use it on mobile. It's back to being semi-functional on mobile now...
My friend is so oblivious it's funny. He also owned a Jag XKR that he sold. He didn't research sports cars or talk to anyone that knows cars before buying one. He bought it on a whim and then realized he didn't really care for sports cars or how much it cost to maintain the Jag.
Thanks, I am pretty happy with the E90 M3. I've never had something that was so practical yet so much fun. It truly has two different personalities. In regular mode its quite comfortable when cruising around town. When I hit the M button the throttle response gets more aggressive, the power goes up, the EDC goes to the stiffest mode and the DCT's shifts become violent. It's a good business car because I can cruise in auto mode when taking people out to lunch or holding a Bluetooth conversation or hit the M button and hoon around in manual mode.
I wish BMW had made more of the E92 GTS cars and sold them at a lower price. The M3 GTS would be a true mix of a sedan and exotic sports car in one package. It's lighter and has an engine that's on par with the F430's 4.3L V8.

Yeah this Kinja or whatever it's called definitely frustrates me sometimes.
That's a great story. Poor guy.
From what I've heard, the E90 is a pretty great car for all the reasons you listed.
It's definitely unfortunate about the GTS. Great car that was just too limited and too expensive for the upgrades that it received. Awesome color though.
Do you have picks of your M3 that you would care to share?

Kinja is a good idea. But it's executed poorly...
Here is a pic of my car taking a photo op next to a Lambo. And the other one is taken in my garage with doge

Beautiful car and dog. Is it a boston terrier?

Thanks!!
Good guess. He is half Boston Terrier and half French Bulldog.
Took him to the vet today. He is more expensive to maintain than German cars!

Oh ok. I can definitely see the two breeds in him.
Haha. I can understand that. I've definitely spend a small fortune on my French Bulldog, Vizsla, and German Shorthair over the years.

How cool you've had a French Bulldog. Do you still have it now?

Yup. I've got one of each of the dogs that I mentioned. My Frenchy Lulu (my wife named her) is our second and she's nearly 4 now. How old is your dog?

That is awesome! Do you have a post that has your doges?
Mine will be 9 in Nov. He's getting to be an old man!

No, I don't and I'd take a quick iPhone picture of them but I'm out of town currently. However, if you do a quick Google Image search you will have a pretty accurate idea of what my Vizsla Lucy looks like because they all look quite similar.

Thank you. She, along with the others, has been a wonderful addition to our family.
