(not my mom's jetta, but a jetta in Leavenworth anyway)
Today's a big day for me, since I drove from my home in Redmond, WA to a small town called Leavenworth, WA. The drive there was about 2 hours, and boy was it a blast!
I left the house with my mom in her jetta, and my stepdad stepsister and stepbrother in my stepdad's GTi. We proceeded to head north, and then east. The road we took was a very scenic highway over Stevens pass. It was also fun since this is the first time I drove a car over 60, or 70, or 80, or 90, or even over 100mph (overtaking two semis in a passing lane downhill) It was a blast. Yes, I was speeding most of the way there, but then again I was just matching speeds with my stepdad. So, 60-90 most of the time, and the jetta held up really well. Had the car in 3rd unless I was on a straight. Revving it up to 5,500RPM's and then slamming it in to 4th was a lot of fun!
I learned quite a bit on how to drive as well. I learned how to properly execute overtaking maneuvers on two lane highways, I learned that I still have to work on judging my distance, and I learned why it's a bad idea to hug the right (I had to overtake a guy doing 50 in the overtaking lane in a 60 zone, and proceeded to cut him off since the jackoff in the right lane thought it'd be funny to break-check a jetta that was going about 20mph faster than he was.)

I love leavenworth. We usually go from seattle to leavenworth every couple of years. It is a nice place, but make sure to book a room though because if you don't you're garunteed to end up sleeping in your car or driving back at 1:00 a.m. lol

I drove around the Olympic Peninsula (in a Jetta 2.5 SE Wagon oddly enough) today. Though I need to get up to Levenworth (For the scenic drive and wine tasting) this summer. Man the Jetta was way different than my Alfa. Much more comfortable for long distance (10hrs) cruising.

Trust me, 2 hours in my mom's 2.5SE Sedan, and I felt just fine! such a good long distance crusier! Although, going up steven's pass, I had to keep it in 3rd to get it over 80 to overtake, and that was a bit hairy... doesn't seem to want to accelerate uphill in 4th at 80 very well...
