Look before you automatically hate me and take away my jalop badge, I like tastefully stanced cars. What is tasteful, you ask me??

Well first it can't be too low it can't go over a speed bump or a pothole

No stupid chrome wheels or spinners ...ever

DO NOT STANCE A CLASSIC CAR

Do not tilt the wheels some much it looks like the axle snapped

These I hate:

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

These I like:

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

And to those of you that say that stanced cars ruin its practicality and performance, drifters stance their cars so it's lower to the ground and will have a lower center of gravity.

Does this mean I will stance my car, No. Does this mean I like stanced cars over non-stanced cars, No. I just find some cars look quite good stanced.

It better be shopped. Or someone's going to get hurt.

As long as camber is under 1.5 degrees, there is room for at least 2" of wheel travel total (1" up, 1" down, with steering at full lock), and ground clearance is at least 4", I'm ok with it. With specs like that, you can actually use your car on the street while still getting performance and looks.

drifters stance their cars so it's lower to the ground and will have a lower center of gravity.

Drifters also use rear-wheel drive cars with crazy amounts of power and don't drive them on the street.

I don't like any of those. They look like a dude with really skinny ankles.

I just don't get why having the top of the tire tucked under the fender is so amazing.

Stretched Tyres are a NO NO they look stupid and completely defeats the purpose of them

I like low on certain cars, but it's the camber that I dislike. Just makes the car seem broken unless it's maybe a drift style build with a few degrees of camber on the front.

Some cars do seem to look better than others when stanced, say a 80's GM vs MK2 GTI

I don't get it either. Want to lower your center of gravity that much? Get a different car. Really, anything with camber that adversely affects handling is a no-go in my books.

heres the think I'm 100% ok with stanced cars but I'm 0% ok with camber. anything more than 2 degrees of camber is simply stupid. Fit the widest wheels you can with out a whole bunch of camber and it's perfect.

here is my idea of a perfectly stanced car:

merc is shopped, gti is not stanced. but yeah, stance non-performance cars if you like, but there is a crew around where I live that has a bunch of cars which do not warrant stancing. s2k, m5… srsly, why do this? you want to make a modern lowrider, be my guest, just don't do it to a car that was meant to kick a$$.

I like most of it.

I like the camber and I like stanced classics.

Oh yeah the car in the third picture started as a joke, and he liked it because he got attention. The Celica is not finished in that picture. He later had a whole custom bodykit made .

Nope, there is no such thing as a tastefully stanced car. Also, that GTI doesn't look stanced. Lowered is not the same thing as stanced.

I know I’m replying to an article that’s about 5-6 years old now but I just wanted say that I personally like stance cars and I own a couple of cars that I’ve stanced. I have a couple of amounts of camber on my cars because I’m a fan of it, but there are times whenever I’m at a meet or watching a 4K video of stance cars that people will put excessive amounts of camber on a car that I will say, it doesn’t look all that great and I’m not supposed to be hating on the guys that have crazy camber. If a lot of camber is what you like, go for it! It’s your passion. You really don’t need someone else telling you how to style your car. And that gets on to my next point; A lot of people act like a stance car is like a daily driver. It really isn’t supposed to be a daily. We bring them to meets a lot and we will drive them around sometimes but my slammed car isn’t supposed to be the car to get me to work or to pick up groceries. It’s really my “fun car” for the meets and shows. And onto my last point; a lot of people can say “that stanced car looks stupid and useless! my 69 Camaro SS is a lot better than that!” when they really have a little Chevy Cobalt sitting outside for them (no offense to die-hard muscle car guys)  but all-in-all, they’re right. Stance cars are useless. But our generation of car guys think they do look super cool and our beliefs are our beliefs and we really do like our beliefs so we’ll keep on stancing our cars for fun
