Heading to Oshkosh - What must I see ?

I'm heading to Oshkosh his week for work. I was planning a visit to the EAA AirVenture museum. Anything else I need to make time for?

Uhh.... there's a big outlet mall in Oshkosh, if you like shopping. You could always check out the Oshkosh truck facility, if you want to see where they make MMRAPS.

Other than EAA there's nothing else I can think of. I usually just blast through Oshkosh on the way to other places.

Born and raised in Oshkosh and now in Neenah, and I can say this truthfully, unless you like to drink there is nothing to do in Oshkosh besides the EAA museum. Oh, and you can't walk 50 ft in Oshkosh without seeing a Oshkosh truck! True story.

Hmmm, seems like that kind of a small town. The only major employer there is Oshkosh (naturally), and they do have their vehicles (1000's) parked all over the east side of the airfield.

I do like a good craft beer... Are there any good craft breweries I should look for ?

I am not a big fan of 'shopping'...

I know all I need to know about MRAP's, M-ATV's, HEMMT's, HET's, MTVR's, FMTV's, etc.

Fratello's is a restaurant that has a brewery, fox river brewing co. Food and beer are ok at best although I do enjoy caber tossing Scottish ale. Good bars in town, Peabody's, bar 430 and oblio's are on main st, the rest are college bars. There are other bars that aren't bad, Oshkosh is a city that you will be in the mide of a neighborhood and you drive by a bar. Appleton has stone cellar, good food and beer, and appleton beer factory, never been there but heard good things.

Back in 98' when I was working on my pilots license, in southeast Wisconsin, a flight instructor friend of mine and I would fly into Oshkosh and park the Cessna-152 by Frier Tucks and grab a $100 hamburger.

I lived in Appleton/Kaukauna for a bit..... Knew of CWA because my sister went to school in Whitewater and roomed with a girl from the Valley.
