I bid you farewell. For now, at least, maybe they'll have the power and water grids fixed in a month or two. That's assuming I can survive this, of course.
It's a diesel generator they plan on using as tempopermanent solution to the outage. It's off right now due to rain, but when it's on, it spews a smelly black smoke through my bedroom window. My money's on this smoke's being toxic

They turn the generators off because of rain?

Dude. shit. I'm sorry. I know there is nothing I can really do, but this and your other thread just suck. I am sorry, as a fellow human being. Hang in there, stick it out the best you can, and hopefully you will be rewarded later.

Did 90 days in Thailand with my only power coming from an old Soviet diesel generator which liked to randomly explode, and I'm still kicking it. After a couple weeks we hooked up a rain barrel to a mister to keep the exhaust down. Power's totally worth it even if that's all you've got.

Sounds sort of like Ghana when I lived there. Mandatory 12 hour power cut, every 36 hours. So basically it would be "Monday: Power. Tuesday: No power from 8pm to 8 am, Wednesday: Power, Thursday: No power from 8pm to 8am....ad infintum.

When I'm using a generator there is a distinct possibility that it is raining. It is also probably the reason I have no power.
