It's been awhile since I've done a FLF post. Have this lovely C-47 from historic air tours of Mt. Pleasant Texas.

Nice. I had to look up Mt. Pleasant. I live in Austin, but have never hear of it. I was reminded once more just how goddammed big this state is.

How much are they charging a ride?

No idea. The Commemorative Air Force is the big organization that restores and maintains warbirds in Texas. They keep them stationed around the state, though, but their base is in Midland. Their website lists costs for rides.

I took this at EAA AirVenture last summer. This particular C-47 actually participated in the D-Day landings and has been invited back for the 70th anniversary commemoration this summer.
It gave me goosebumps standing inside it thinking that there were once men 5-10 years younger than me standing in the exact same spot getting ready to jump out over a Nazi-infested French coast.

There are certainly a lot of old birds flying in TX. Very cool organization, thanks for the link.
