Well. It turns out it wasn't quite as easy as it looked. But, I'm halfway done. I can now confirm, if there was even any doubt, that S2000 seats will swap on to a prelude pan and rails. Thusly, becoming bolt on. On the plus side, I gained about an inch or more of headroom!
Just some pics i took in the process.
I should note to any s2000 owners, if you are curious why your bolster has become flat, this is the beginnings of that issue. There is a metal support bar that acts like a 'backbone' for the side bolster. It slips in between the thin outer layer foam and the inner foam. What happens is, as you mush that bolster, the metal bar wears through. Causing such damage as noted above. You can fix it various ways, with various foams, tape, and or cardboard. As well as many other genius ideas found on the interwebs.
I chose to use water pipe insulation. As it was honestly the thickest, durable foam i have available at the moment.
I stuffed appropriately cut foam pieces into the cut, and filled other areas that i felt were necessary for the pan swap. The tape is there to hopefully extent the useful life of the bolster.... We will see how that goes, but now i know its not too terrible to go back in and fix it if i must. I thought about adding cardboard, but i felt it probably wouldn't last very long.
See the black foam. That is the spot where the bar 'would' go if i wasn't swapping the pans out. Since i was, i wanted add additional foam.
Aside from the wrinkling of the leather, the bolster is pretty much even, and back to an appropriate level. Well, its close enough for me anyways.
after completion. head on and profile.
The prelude rails, and plastic cover fits just as it should. And doesn't look 'chopped' or non-oem. I think it looks pretty clean overall.
They sit much deeper and in a little different position that the regular prelude seats, but based on initial impressions, not too bad. Im just worried about the bolster....
and... I can recline my s2000 seats! They go allllll the way back.
I am embarrassed to say this but just doing one seat took over 5 hours. I mean, i have never done this before, but still. Its a tedious job for sure.

Thanks! Its actually a tossup at the moment, as both seats are very comfortable respectively. The real test will be the drives longer than an hour.

Seat work is always tedious. Don't feel bad. Especially if you are changing the seat pans. It looks good so you should feel good about your work!

I feel really good about it, so it was well worth the time.

Dude, don't be. I wish I could be this competent at that sort of stuff.
It looks really great.

Well you satisfied the main criteria for modifying a car; you made your self feel good. Chock that up for a win in the books! Aside from the S2k seats being too narrow for my fat ass, they are really nice seats.

Give yourself some options, and see what decides to open a door for you. I had a few seat choices but i found these local and i couldn't resist. Now i gotta do some reading on how to save my leather for the long term... I will say its a nice, thick feeling leather. And the perforations are actually quite nice.

They are growing on me, i was worried about them at first, as i had never actually sat in them for more than 5 mins before i bought these.

I was just surprised i guess. The guys on the forums said it was like a 2 hour job. I look back and just lol.
Thanks! And im sure you could do something like this. Just take your time, and have a camera nearby to snap pics if you forget how something went haha.

oh, I've given myself options :P I currently have:
and have previously had stock Civic seats (from my 2000 and later from a 96 I flipped), Civic SI seats (seen on passenger side here)
Mugen S1 replica paired with Bride replica
Civic Type R replicas (you can see the stock 96 civic seat too)
The s2000 seats in the CR version are cloth, and in Japan they had a cloth centre instead of leather.
I'm currently thinking of going for FG2 SI seats (pictured in my year civic)
Or RSX seats (pictured in my year civic)
Both are cloth with dark fabric. The pans aren't adaptable to my Civic, but I can just remove the stock mounts and put them on my Sparco brackets. Currently leaning towards the RSX simply because they are far cheaper. But if I came across some cheap S2000 seats... I might let them have a month or two in my car :P
So yeah, seats and wheels, that's what my car gets the most changes in. Seats mostly because I just don't know how much I'll like them until I mount them up and drive around for a bit.
And re. your work taking 5 hours. I've swapped the covers on my rear seats with ones from an integra because I wanted the headrest, included swapping all fabric and foam onto my existing frames. Took an age, and involved a few minor cuts. Worth it though :D

3rd pic. the seat on the right. THATS like nearly my dream seat. Is that the bride? That will probably be my next seat.
The new Si seats are pretty sweet if im honest. But id have to remove the Si embroidering.
RSX seats look pretty spiffy, kinda like a little less aggressive s2000 seats.
Just make sure you are okay fooling around with getting the airbags out of some of those.
Ive gone just over 10K miles on my stock prelude seats. And the seats only have 75K miles on them haha. I feel bad ripping them out and taking them apart, but i can always find another set. I just hope i will actually like them. Otherwise ill be looking for those brides sooner than later.
I looked into getting the leather covers for my car, but that seemed like more time than its worth. Props to you for doing that, i now know EXACTLY how hard it is. Its not easy!
I cut my finger pretty bad when i went to pull the recliner handle off. It wasnt even a manly part to cut myself on. And then when i was messing with the spring loaded reclining bracket (upper part of the seat was off), it was in the reclined position locked and loaded. I had my wrist right in front of that solid half inch metal bracket when i hit the recline lever and it shot forward into that bump bone on your wrist. Im still worried i broke or chipped my bone...
