Regarding the GM scandal

If the main concern about these cars is that the power assist and airbags stopped working.. Will i die if i crash my Rx7 with no airbags or assist?

and Why has no one used the term fiery death yet!?

Also, please help me out here.. but did the girl who died panic insead of reacting semi-rationally?

The way i see it, she could have stopped the car on the side of the road, not careen into some trees at 71mph.. but what do i know?

Oh, and that GM sure is a company that will do anything and everything to save a buck, no. If the 57 cent calculation is correct, it would have cost them less than $500,000 total..

My mom's Vue shut off once because she knocked the key really hard with her hand. Did she freak out? No, she popped the car in Neutral, turned it back on, and continued as if nothing even happened. People just flip shit an pull at the wheel or some other stupid shit.

This whole recall thing just makes me ashamed of the human race. First, people are panicking about these easily resolved issues. Second, some of the cars effected are more than 10 years old. They've probably lived hard lives in that time and some parts are just worn out. Third, it pisses me off that GM wanted to save so much money in the development/production of these cars. I get it, it's a business, but still. Let the engineers do their work unhindered by the penny pincher accountants. Fourth, my '81 trans am has similar issues to the most recent GM switch recall but you don't see me dying a fiery death or getting out of my car while it is in drive.

exactly, same deal with the toyota "unintended acceleration" Those cars could have been shut off or put into neutral and everyone would have been fine

when shit hits the fan, people would rather cover their eyes than do something to save themselves..

Yeah!

Don't people know you're supposed to put it in *neutral* before you ghost ride the whip?

People want things to be "perfect" or "as they would have made it" but are not willing to pay that amount. There are a lot of industries hit this way.
