Obviously I know it's thursday but yesterday I was really confused. But impressed. I went to this Citroën-specialist I live nearby to have my wife's Volvo have this yearly obligatory inspection. This garage is literaly in my backyard and I know the owner as a skilled mechanic (as he should be, handling all those French failures). Then this terrible loud but awesome noise came closer and closer.
I've spotted this Pantera a few times nearby but never was able to see it this good. Never thought a De Tomaso owner would take his Pantera to this Citroën specialist but then again: I've taken my GF's Volvo (and my old 2002 once) there as well.
The few times I saw a Pantera never made clear to me how low it really is, just look at the C4 behind it. Few more pictures:
Spoke to the owner for a while, he had it imported from the US 3 years ago. Ford Cleveland V8, MSD ignition, 1 big (holley?) carb, mahle pistons and specific race-cilinderheads should give him much more then the original 330bhp. Problem at this moment was only that it didn't go over 3k rpm, which likely had to do with the MSD ignition. He was taking it to Le Mans Classic this summer, I really have to check that event out one time.
Only thing that completely startled me was what it rolled on:
Not the fact the rims were Campagnolo's (as I'm going to mount on my 'new' 2002 when it's ready) but the tires:
They were M+S tires? Mud & Snow! H-spec. So max 210km/h. And 295 wide. Seems I'm not the only one having issues finding the right tire.
Sorry for the quality of my pictures, the phone was all I had with me.

possibly that was the only kind of tire available in that size. 295/50/R15. Seems odd but it's an odd car.

I know, I talked to the guy and that's what he said. He already ordered 17" rims for the Le Mans part, was willing to take it to track as well and then those M+S don't really will be sufficient. And I know all about how hard it is: I'm trying to resource 13" 185/70 H-spec and those are hard to find.

I’ll take 1 concours for show, 1 as a DD, and 2 for parts.
