I finally found a MK1 Celica-Supra rear end nearby! Well when I say nearby I mean 2.5 hours away. And yes, I said MK1 Celica-Supra. Like, one of these
It's the only bolt-in way to get an LSD and disc brakes in my Cressida Wagon. Plus a better cruising ratio (either 3.90 or 3.73) than my stock 4.10. Another advantage is that the 7.5" diff will swap with MK2 Celica Supra diff guts so I will have some options if this diff dies.
Huzzah!

You know you want it.
Go and get it. Now. Do it now. You need it.

All you people with your fancy greater than 3 ratios. Why in my project, we had a 2.88 and liked it!
Actually just blathering here for effect - I can't imagine a 4.10 ratio on anything with smallish wheels. THE PAIN

SWEET! I sent you a PM about one in California, but the local one is going to be better for you. Is it in the car still or is it loose?
Don't forget all the applicable stuff for the e-brake system too. It might behoove you to get the e-brake handle too.

My Supra turbo had NA pistons, close ratio tranny, 4.10 gears, and everything after the turbo was 3 inches. I would only get to enjoy about 2 seconds of boost before I had to shift. But man, what a rush.

It's currently attached to an AE86. I think all I should need would be the cables, they should attach to my Cressida stuff just fine.

I'm driving up on Saturday, so this weekend is a very car-stuff weekend for me. Local meet on Friday night, give the MR2 a once-over on Saturday morning, drive up and get the axle Saturday night, autocross on Sunday!
This is the life, fellas.

Awesome!!! Congrats man, can't wait to see that installment on your build thread. Once I get 5 seconds (the mudslide has had me working 12s for the last 2 weeks, and the week before that I was working 12s in Alaska), I'm going to get the motor swap from Grimace to Aces done, then start the refurb on my Supra axle.

I just really hope this axle is in as good of shape as the guy says. It's a lot of money to plop down on something that could potentially need a rebuild if it's not.

I'm only rebuilding mine for piece of mind. That and the pinion seal is leaking, so why not do it all in one shot.

If I'm not mistaken, the ludicrously high Jag ratio I have will put me at max hp in fourth at 120-130mph. I'm... not sure I want to do that that often.
OTOH, I have a 3.42 first, so I can still smoke tires.
