Got his iPhone yesterday, already used 168mb of data downloading apps, he thought he was on wifi, his reasoning? He knows our office has wifi and figured by simply being in its vicinity he'd be connected to it. So I did him a solid and turned off cellular data and showed him how to connect to wifi. Considering his data plan is only 250mb.... split between two people. I didn't even know you could buy such a plan for an iPhone!
All I can say is FUCK YEAH UNLIMITED DATA! I will hold onto my Verizon plan for as long as I can. It really is the only truly unlimited plan you can have.

lol I hate verizon but I won't drop them as long as they keep my unlimited data live. They tried to run some game on me last month with a new tablet if I went to 5GB. Screw that

my in laws are still taking verizon to town with that plan lol.
We're on normal verizon data limits, but they randomly upped everyones data 1 gb without extra charges (and gave you the option to drop down to your old smaller level at a lower cost -shocking) a month or two ago.
oh and ATT signal sucks so i'm stuck at verizon.

Exactly.
I dont mind Verizon in-as-far that they have excellent coverage and my data is unlimited, lol.

yeah the signal thing is another reason I stay. Maine cell service usually sucks. US Cellular is usually the best up here but I never liked them otherwise

I have a VZW for work and a Sprint for personal. I hate Verizon's customer service and their cap on data. But their coverage is slightly better.
My Sprint though, 4g LTE unlimited. If only they had better device choices. Specifically the Lumia!

Last time I checked Sprint Unlimited wasn't truly unlimited.
Verizon customer service has been fine for me. I hardly ever have a need to interact with them though. But the times that they did they were very helpful and resourceful.
Their datacap does suck, but is irrelevant for me, as for now I am still holding on to my unlimited plan.

Sprint's unlimited is certainly unlimited. I have 2 lines with Sprint, unlimited text, unlimited 4G, 1500 minutes I think, and unlimited mobile to mobile, and 99% of the numbers I call are mobile so it might as well be unlimited voice.
I could have essentially the same plan, but 2GB each line on VZW and pay about the same.
And I deal with vendors a lot, Verizon's customer services at a business level is about as spotty as T-Mobile's service in my area. Tech support, easy (although just as aggravating as any other Tech support with the billion stupid questions like "Is the phone on) But getting them to own up to something or escalate appropriately to their vendors is a royal pain in the ass. It doesn't matter that we have thousands of devices on their network and only they are having problem x, then three days later we get an "all clear" for a problem that never existed according to them...
Part of it though is that they don't want you to build a rapport with their people, Sprint and Altel were the opposite and thats why I prefer them, and the lower prices and unlimited data of course.
But, for a personal device... If VZW keeps the Lumia (I have a Windows Phone HT 8XT now) and adds unlimited data... I may consider going back to VZW. But when I regularly use 2-5GB a month, Its not worth it to me with good Sprint LTE 70% of the time versus VZW's 95%.

Verizon screwed me out of unlimited data. When I went to upgrade from my iphone 4 to iphone 5 almost a year ago, they said that I had 2 options:
1. Pay full price for iPhone 5 (600-700 bucks, can't remember exactly), but keep unlimited data
OR
2. Get discount on phone ($300 since I got a 32 GB) and switch to a limited plan.
I went with option 2 because I could get 6 GB for the same monthly bill as what I was paying for unlimited, and I knew I could live with 6 GB, but I'm still a little pissed they didn't keep the promise they made me when I first got unlimited that "I'll be grandfathered in as long as I'm with Verizon wireless."
Also I'm pretty convinced they throttle my data which really pisses me off because I'm not using more than my limit, or really even that close to it. Stupid IMO, but I'll stay with them simply because switching would be a pain and all companies are going to do the same corrupted bullshit.

I'm definitely not getting throttled, but I do notice that during busy times my speeds drop.
Technically they didn't lie when they said "as long as you are with Verizon". They didn't say they'd keep subsidizing your phones, it's a shitty thing to do, but on the other hand they never really should've offered unlimited, they need 10x the capacity they have now to be able to handle that.
At the end of the day I am happy to buy used 4G phones at ~$200, I don't need the latest and greatest iphone or the latest Galaxy Note 7 S6 Razr Maxx Ultra HD bladibla. Typically there is an android phone out there that performs very well at the $200-used mark, like my Droid Razr M. I would call it an upper-medium tier phone (at the time that I bought it).

yeah, I generally don't go for the newest technology either, but it was time for a new phone after 2.5 years and I didn't feel like searching around for used stuff, and I figured 200-300 dollars every two years or so wasn't a huge expense so it'd just be easier to do it that way and avoid a potential headache.

Sprint has unlimited data, but they throttle...

Hmmm...
As I can find / remember this was all rumor and misinterpretation. Even the worst of the interpretations was Sprint throttled those who excessively used a ton of data on roaming networks.
Regardless, I never had an issue with it.
