Beautiful picture but it still doesn't sell me on living in Kansas.

Damn right. Even coming from gorgeous desert sunsets, Kansas has some of the most astonishing sunrise/sets ever. Gorgeous pic fellow Jayhawk

Kansas... The only state you can drive across for 10 hrs and feel like you've gone nowhere.

I drove through this past summer, and I would've paid someone several hundred dollars to get me and my car the hell out of there so I wouldn't have to spend another soul-crushing moment in the middle of BFE

I've only been in Wichita, and based on that alone I would not mind living in Kansas.

Wichita is a nice place to live. Lawrence is the best town in the state though

One of these days I hope to get out to Lincoln KS, for the SCCA Solo Nationals of course. Lawrence may be too close to Kansas City, where my Uncle whom our entire family tries to avoid lives......

WTF is wrong with you?
OK, subtract the tone. (Bad Athom) I live in Wichita, grew up central Tx, born Colorado, lived in Omaha and the Ozarks. Wichita is about as depressing and uneventful as it gets. I see no reason to live here, other than I haven't managed to escape yet...
STAY AWAY: Seriously...

this is what I remember seeing....
I lived there as a teenager for 2 years when my dad was stationed at McConnell. I didn't mind it, but the "100 days over 100 degrees" got old quick. Meth labs were big back then too. I learned to appreciate the slower pace in the Midwest - besides Kansas as a kid, I've been stationed in Ohio and South Dakota (fun fact: I lived in the same base in South Dakota as a kid).

Iowa, I agree... But Des Moines is at least somewhat interesting (I love architecture too) and Omaha has some city feel to it and again, at least a couple interesting buildings (including one taller than anything in Kansas City).
Go far enough east in Ne and there are some decent rolling hills too... But travel west and... yep Corn fields.

True... When I go east I now pick I-80 over I-70. Nebraska has better exits IMO. Middle Kansas exits consist of 1 gas station With a Subway inside it your lucky. Usually the same employee running both.
