My mom in California spotted a test car on the freeway. Any clues to what it is? Not a great picture. I am asking for more if she can get some

Anyways, in more seriousness it seems to resemble the Cruze spotted in China.

My initial thought was the 2015 Focus sedan, but the mirrors look less sloping than in the test car and the Chinese Cruze (compare the mirrors):
