I MIGHT look at picking this up if it is still available later on (in a month or so). I know the owner, so I am sure he would be straight with any issues. Thing is, I know nothing of the engine.

seems tidy and simple, and $3k is beater money, I think you'd be doing pretty well, assuming you have enough know how to take on someone else's project and potential wiring nightmare

I hate wiring.
But I know he drove it daily for quite awhile, so I am thinking it is decent running shape. It would just be my third car.

Don't mind me, just passing through as I step over the street urchins and poor people.
And by third car, I mean my family's third car. My daily, the wife's daily/family hauler, then a fun car for me.
And I have not yet got the CFO's final approval (my wife's). So this may all be a moot point.
