Agreed, if they were flush I would very much be a fan. I wonder how they'd look dipped white.

I prefer either the original white wheels or the black Spoon Sport wheels. Nothing to do with keeping things original. There are plenty of factory wheels that look like crap, but those were just right.

I like factory, but my preference would be for set of the next gen Type R's wheel on this gen type R :)

Yes, like that. Not bad, I'd probably stick with silver though for white on white. If the car was a different color I think it would work really nicely.

the white steelies were a PAIN to keep clean too, that recess where the inner rim bends down to meet the outer rim was a trap for garbage!

I believe that. I'm thinking about dipping white on my alloys, since I already have to clean off brake dust pretty frequently with silver. I drive dirt/gravel roads pretty frequently though, so it might get torn up.

"In 1998, the Civic Type R Motor Sports edition was released. It came with steel rims, no air conditioning, no power windows, no power steering, and no radio. Standard Type R interior which included Recaro bucket seats, Momo steering wheel, and red carpet with matching door trim."

they expected that the wheels would be upgraded by the customer. lots of jdm cars had this kind of option.

indeed, I've heard of it before, and this is certainly a 96-98 Civic R. Makes good sense

I think I'm just stuck in the '90s. I like the simple 7 spoke design from back then, the Spoon 5 spoke, Regamaster Evo, Enkei RPF1, 5Zigen, and other simple designs like that.
