Love the sound, love the revs, love the alternate-ness and they're so well suited to motorsport they got banned after the first season of the 787.
They require more maintenence than your typical piston engine, but I always thought that was a boring reason to disparage an engine.

Except they don't like boost so much. Other things to like about them: compact, revs to the moon, is better at taking a variety of fuels, are simple.

They have unreasonably awesome power to weight in a super tiny package without many moving parts. But they're not for everyone.
