Well, CoolerMaster changed that with the HAF Stacker 935. A main case for your main computer (Stacker 925) and one or two small cases dedicated (either) to HDD/SSD storage, cooling or housing a second Mini-ITX computer (Stacker 915F/R, the main difference being the location of the Power Supply Unit.)
And it costs $100+ less. I mean, sure, for a $175 case, it looks a bit too gaudy and outrageous compared to the subtle yet tall $340 Corsair Obsidian 900D, but with that much of being modular, can you really forgive the 935's looks?

Yeah, but the HAF cases are fucking ugly, with a capital 'G.'

Cooler Master, sadly, doesn't know how to design SHIT.
The 900D is silly, but its designed nicely and cleanly.
TBH, at those prices, fairly certain I'd rather get a TJ11 or just get right into Case Labs. Though if I ever have money for those kinds of cases at full list, I'd go get a custom carbon fiber one for myself and laugh at all the poor peoples with my light case.

The thing is, I would gladly trade ugliness for usability. Ones that look cool? Guess what - it's either expensive beyond reach or practically useless.

That's the problem with the 900D. While it may look good, you have to lose some of that practicality. It's like a good looking Toyota MR2 but with absolutely no trunk space.

That's pretty sweet. I still heart my Antec DarkFleet though

Oh hello, didn't see you there. Nah don't mind me I'm just solving a huge glaring flaw in traditional ATX packaging and dominating air-cooling performance tests.

It comes with all the fans you could ever possibly need preinstalled. Those three AP182s in the floor retail for $32 a piece. Which is kind of a ripoff but still.
