The 1999-2005 Audi Allroad as the greatest factory sleeper of all time. Could be had with either a 2.7 Twin Turbo good for a not-too-shabby 250hp in stock trim, or a V8 with 300hp, both engines being easy to squeeze some more out of with little effort, and the 2.7tt available with a manual transmission. All-wheel-drive (obviously), high ground clearance and clever diffs for good offroading ability. If you choose to treat your Allroad as many others due and swap the typically troublesome air suspension for a shock-and-spring setup, you've got one very capable, powerful, sporty, manual wagon. And it looks like this.

Kinja'd!!!

Absolutely grotesque to the non-Jalop eye.

So Oppo, what are your favorite factory sleepers?

To most people it's a Cadillac and it's a wagon, so it'll be pretty non-threatening, then just like the Spanish Inquisition, it and its 556 HP say good bye to you at the light.

Audi S6. It looks quite good but nothing out of the ordinary from Audi and most people would just think of it as another rich person's sedan.

During that same era they sold the S4 Avant. No air suspension, slightly faster, and no plastic body cladding. Also, it was lower to the ground (better center of gravity, better handling).

Yes, but it's good looking. IMO, being a bit ugly is what makes a good sleeper even better. And rectangular-cut body panels on a non-angular car is certainly ugly.

I disagree.

My car is my favourite factory sleeper. 1996-2003 Toyota Crown comes with 2JZ-GTE in a body that looks like this:

Kinja'd!!!

The 2JZ only pushing 276hp for now. But beacuse there's a tons of kits of this engine, i think i'll try to tune it later on.

Subaru Outback 2.5XT. 250hp on detuned turbo motor, can be had with a manual transmission and 50/50 power split. Autocrossable and offroadable!

If I lived in a country where that was sold, that would have been my first car. It looks like it would be cheap to insure, safe, and totally unsuspecting, but comfy and a blast to drive.

Volvo XC70 T6 Polestar- 325hp

Ford Flex EcoBoost- 365hp

But the true question is, LGT or the Outback? The Legacy might be a bit less sleeper, but (I assume) puts up better numbers cornering-wise, and it's pretty stealth as well.

I'm in love with that XC70...I never knew there was a Polestar one.

There is indeed-best of all, it is an engine-only upgrade. No exterior changes whatsoever.

Well, in Indonesia we have quite a lot of it. I get mine from a local taxi auction for just 7.5k USD. A bit high, but it's one hell of a car.

It's very comfy, like those old rolls royce, but it has massive body roll due the soft suspension. But it's fast on the straight line, 0-60 in 6-7 seconds. And it's surprisingly equipped too, you got air purifier, dual-zone climate control, and a fridge!

Well, it is quite good-looking but it doesn't look that fast, especially in a generic color like silver. If we are going that way, though, I'll nominate the Acura CL Type S. That was a terrible looking car (although it has aged better compared to the beaked Acuras):

Kinja'd!!!

6 speed, 260 hp 3.2L, FWD but Honda did it best during that era.

Outback. The lift makes it complete mom-tastic and you have to answer questions about your preferences
