Time for our daily OPPO field trip to do what we always do, look at cars :]
Yesterday, we took the old rear engine, 4 rotary diesel, carbon fiber OPPO bus out to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! in South Africa. Not what I expected from Africa, gave me a east Colorado or Utah felling :] KnowAboutCars was on the Golf's with some interesting examples. Also a fine set of jalop worthy vehicles! Arch Duke also kicked in with a clean GTI and Jeep around some very small dealers. Pitchblende found a cool set consisted of what I now know as an OG Mini Clubman and 121 pick-up. My find was not exactly a Tyrell P34 as TSZ2788 noticed but these Map Chopped images are always appreciated. Especially those chopped roof images. I didn't know what my find was but Laird Andy let me know it was in fact a Opel Mantra, yay learning. Otto-the-Croatian-kid pointed the best choice in post apocalypse vehicles, a bid Benz work vehicle. Brian Silvestro and RazoE both were just on fire spotting e30's, awesome van, more GTI's, a huge set of awsome LR across from SKYNET!!!, and an awesome old Disco. Finally, Babz came around and quickly took part in out Golf situation lol :] Thanks to all who participated, very much appreciated :]
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Today we are in !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! in Bulgaria. It's a nice place for the most part, sort of. Perfect CCIARAT candidate that's for sure. Kind of crowded in the center..
and a little more beat up on other parts :( ......
will have to give this place a WARNING: Hatchbacks everywhere.
As for cars, well... I did find this Chevy Beretta :]
Good luck everyone :]

I have no idea if that's a Gov. building, but that parking lot behind the Alfa with the 7 series looks important.
Also, I was expecting this place to be a cold, desolate, barren wasteland. I was pleasantly surprised.

quick story. When I was a tech for Lexus/Toyota, the convertible version of these gave me the worst headaches. Those cars were never meant to be convertibles. A company in California got them directly from Toyota and converted them into convertibles. Bad thing is that the frame was't strong enough and while you are driving, the windshield would move around making you dizzy and want to puke :(

Sofia can be both actually. There are part of the town that looks typically like a old communist state and other that are very delightfull. Sofia is a relatively new city in this setup, but it dates back to the Great Roman Empire in the BC times as a lot of other cities and villages in Bulgaria.
A lot of the central architecture is done by Austrian architects.
If you are a gamer and has played Half-Life 2, City 17 is inspired mostly by Sofia, because the art director is Bulgarian.

We are different then in the USA. A lot of the car dealers operate like Tesla with shops in buildings and service centres somwhere else. There is exceptions though. The Ford importer has a huge lot, because they also sell Jag, LR/RR and Volvo, because of the olden days.

The front end and everything before the B-pillar could be Vauxhall/Opel Monterey (Isuzu Trooper), that would explain the snorkel on the left side, and the side-markers on the Vauxhall doo look very Toyota-ish, moreso than the Isuzu version, but the rear is STILL wrong! The 2-door Monterey had a two-peice rear-side-window with a C-pilar for roof support/rollover protection. AND all of the above mentioned vehicles had a single rear cargo door, not the split door this thing has... Damnit, this thing is bugging me! ;)

Because Sofia is adjacent to a mountin the different parts of the city have different altitudes. Most probably the Yaris came from one of the mountainous neighbourhoods where can actually snow a little, but not in other parts of the city.
