I could watch videos like this for hours. If I lived close to a major airport, I'd be out there on weekends watching in person.

these are literally shot from the deck of my timeshare condo on St. Maarten. I sit there, drink Carib, and watch the planes come in and out all day. I will upload some video soon
this is from the bar...

Super jealous. St. Maarten is like the spotting holy grail.

I Like it!
Who didn't like a big flying thing landing and taking off?
But still, my favourite plane spotting videos were from Princess Juliana Airport. That's just mental.

yeah we have the closest condo to the end of the runway. 3 bedroom, all super soundproofed inside, but BEST spotting of all time. Our private deck is the big one 2 stories up. People that go with me try and get me away. Tis a tough thing

I'm more into military aircraft spotting, but civilian is fine too.
Another legenday location (already shut down fortunately/unfortunately): Kai Tak

Wow, I'd never heard of Kai Tak. Looks like that would have been an awesome place to watch.
As for military spotting, I'd love to watch during a red flag exercise.

It's a great hobby of mine, though I don't get out as much as I'd like. Austin doesn't have the busiest airport, and the official spotting location isn't the greatest, but you can still get some pretty good shots if you time the light right in the morning. There's a very good spotting location at DFW which I hit as often as I can.
I play in an orchestra in Abilene, TX, home of Dyess AFB. It has one of only two wings of B-1 bombers. When I have free time, I go out to the base and hang out at a public park just off the north end of the runway. The pace of operations has dropped off a bit in the last year or two, but you can usually catch a few touch and gos.
And of course there are air shows. I go to as many as I can manage, though this year, other commitments are keeping me away from more of the Texas shows than I'd like.
These are all my pictures, btw. So yeah, I could spend an entire day or more just sitting at the airport watching the planes go by. They've fascinated me since a young age.

airnation.net has an RSS feed that I get and it usually has a new video of airport operations just about every day.

Awesome shots! That MiG looks pristine.
