Though, I think the set itself is a few years old, it was listed as brand new. New, made in the USA, under $85, comes in its own roll, needless to say, I'm pretty happy with my purchase. Can't wait to get these and get to work on the truck.
A local hardware store was listing them so, I asked in the question box upon purchase if I could be refunded the $10(!) shipping fee if I picked them up in store. Do you think I have a shot?

9 piece set of standard box end wrenches for $85... Ehhhh, doesn't seem like a great deal to me. What kind of warranty do they have? For that price, you might be able to find ratchet wrenches. That would be a good deal.

S&K is very high quality (like Snap-on, Matco, Mac). $85 isn't a bad price. Hopefully the place will be cool, and let you pick it up and save the $10.

Everything I've heard about them says that they used to be high quality, but then went to garbage, then went out of business. But if it's not made in china, then maybe these are some of the good tools.

I had not heard about them going out of business, but who knows with the way things have gone the last few years.

Yeah, they declared bankruptcy in 2010. They were acquired by ideal though, so I have no idea if they are still sold under SK. Ideal is a good brand IMO though, so hopefully they are still good.

There were $70, but with shipping $80. I got a great deal on quality, American wrenches.

If not, I'll drive over and ask when they arrive. But fingers crossed! There were $70, but I said under $85 because other similar sets were much more expensive.

A buddy of mine works there. How he described the process and the tolerances everything is held to, SK is MUCH higher quality than other high-end hand tools.

Good to know.
