Pulled up almost next to it on a freeway off-ramp, waiting for the light.
Damn, I hadn't noticed that crack in the windshield.
License plate of "Fluxin" (I wonder if he knows his car was featured prominently in a series of 1980s movies?). Check out the louvres. Those seem to be unnecessarily extra complex or is that a luggage rack on top of the louvres?
Anyway really awesome to see one (I've never, ever seen another actually on the road!). I wish I hadn't been alone in the car and that the light would have stayed red for a bit longer so I could get a decent pic.
Oh well, now to get that chip fixed...

I've seen a couple here in Austin. Or maybe the same one twice. Any idea how many there are remaining in the wild?

Isn't its natural habitat on the back of a flatbed?

I'm pretty sure there are a lot left. I see them all the time. There are, however, very few without vanity plates.

Supposedly ~6500 out of the original 9000. I doubt that many are actually out being driven though. You can still buy quasi-new ones only 3 hours away from Austin in Humble, TX. They assemble them from NOS and reproduction parts, apparently.
