On my preferred forum for v6 mustangs a member had some problems with his brand new 2014 base mustang. First his car was taking on water in the rain like a 15th century galleon riding a hurricane (literary license). Next his engine died before the odometer got much further than 1000 miles. Finally, the dealership has returned the car to him. There's now a question of recompense for the problems.

I bring this up for two reasons:
1) Is Ford or the dealership required to recompense the guy beyond fixing the car?
2) Is this an isolated problem? Or are the 3.7l v6's having some significant quality control problems?
Thank you for your time. This image is for your enjoyment:

i've been working at dealerships for many years. It's like this dude, out of let's say 100 of certain car, 80 might turn out fine, normal, or freaking perfect, 10 might have more issues, and the last 10 were just plain shitty. That's why TSB's exist.
As for service department, well, they are all different. Prices and quality of the techs. Don't loose hope, just need a little more research.

Technical Service Bulletin. When an issue gets to be common enough, a solution by the manufacturer in the for of a TSB get's sent to the dealers usually containing an upgraded part number and instruction for a fix. Not quite a recall per say but it help a whole bunch if something gets to be common.
