Akerson leaves and the ignition switch issue comes to the fore?

Also the level of derp found in people commenting on the GM recall is fucking stellar.

I've been thinking about that the last couple of days. On the other hand, Barra was in charge of product at GM, so what was her involvement? Sure seems like she's stuck holding the bag though.

My guess is almost none. Many people view GM as having a "cover up culture" as opposed to the reality which is "poor internal communications."

Most international corporations that have been around since before the internet age fall into the combination of plausible deniability and bad communication structure internally.

I just find moments like this exasperating because it becomes an airing of grievances about Tommy's 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix and how shitty it was, or how the UAW needs to die, or how GM is intentionally EVIL, or bailouts. It is very droll.
