... the ideology of the committee who determines when would a traffic signal installation apply. I know of a few areas in my town (Tacoma) that actually needs a signal rather than stop signs, and only 10% in the last few years got that covered.

!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , for instance. That has been an all-way stop intersection for decades - and for people who are coming out of the beach or ferry in manuals, it kind of gets irritating during spring, summer and fall months - especially those who drive stick. All but northbound traffic stop on a rather sketchy uphill.

Another street I would like to nominate would be mentioned in an earlier post I made concerning an altercation between me and a Foxbody - South 25th street's !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Only South 25th street has the stop sign while cross streets don't. This meant that you couldn't really predict whether people were going to stop or go, and when they don't - accidents happen. I should know, I actually saw one happen during a test drive with a Volvo S80. Thank God it wasn't me!

I just can't see how a stop sign is more budget friendly and in a blunt term, safe. I know most of South 25th Street has a signal intersection but what about the other half? Then again, most of Seattle's intersections are an abundance of NOTHING but signals that are inappropriate to the roads in question.

I hate driving in Tacoma. All around Pt. Defiance is terrible. I've never gotten in as many almost-accidents anywhere else. I've driven three manual cars in Tacoma, and nevere really been comfortable with it. I barely move backward anymore, but for the first couple years I learned stick, I have no idea how I didn't hit anyone. People just pull up two inches from your bumper, especially downtown.
