The BMW finally drives!
April fools, go **** yourself
I recall a while back in some thread about a vintage BMW where the topic of the 4HP22 came up and I was one of the few people who said it was a good trans.
I take back everything I said, if I can't get this piece of shit working tomorrow I'm throwing it in the trash and finding a Getrag 265/6 5spd.
I'm going to sleep, this shits getting old

Get the Getrag. That's exactly what I did with the Jag's gearbox, although that was only a slow leak.
To do the swap you'll need a couple of things. The gearbox itself, a pedal box, a flywheel, a clutch, a clutch master cylinder, a clutch slave cylinder, the hydraulic hose between the two and maybe an ECU if the engine management is tied into the operation of the gearbox (it most likely will be on a high-end car like this).

I've been keeping an eye out for a parts car so I don't have to track down every nut and bolt.

thats all the ATF that came out after I had emptied the trans pan into a pan already.
