I know (of) the guy who built this car up since we hung out in the same car realm. Its a very cool car, he did a complete custom turbo setup on this 96 grand marquis. It sounds like a damn jet taking off when he gets into boost.

Yes, which before you freak out and say "WELL THE MANUAL IN MY CIVIC" a turbo car with an auto will keep it in boost which makes it faster. The 4R70W is a very stout trans which will hold up to this power level for years to come.

This is is cheap if I didn't have the BMW I'd be calling the guy up.

I guess I'm just one of those people that doesn't understand an auto in a fast car.

This car ran high 16's when it was brand new in 1995, it was never meant to be a fast car

Then why turbo it to over 400hp? If you're gonna go through the trouble, find a Cobra tranny to swap into it.

Because thats what hot rodding is all about

A manual swap, while it is 100% possible, is not as straight forward as swapping it into a car that actually came with a manual trans. Being that no panther ever came with a factory manual, its a bit of work. This car was also his DD so I'm sure that applies in there somewhere to.

We all have personal preference, I know automatics are like the anti-christ around here but sometimes you don't have the option to row your own boat when buying a car.
