So, I took the Spider out for a run, to check on the 240 Classic from last week's adventure. The trip went well, pretty uneventful, but when I was on the way back, I felt a familiar wobble in the rear, and Bob commented, when I stopped in at his place, that the right rear looked like it was warped to hell. Well, we broke out the torque wrench and verified the proper torque (we had it), so I just bought a set of 'wobble' bolts and I'm about to call about a set of 14" BMW wheels in 4x100. Preferably BBS, although the bottlecaps might be an interesting look on a Spider, and definitely better than what I've got now.
Thoughts?
The reason for staying 14" is because the 14" tires on the Spider now have less than 1500 miles on them. Otherwise, I'd go 13" in a heartbeat.

are they 4x100 or 98? if they are 98,
50 bucks a wheel, need refinishing

The car is 4x98, the BMW bottlecap wheels are 4x100 and I have a brand-new set of wobble bolts from Bayless to hold 'em on, after I enlarge the hub bore by 1mm.

Got it... I still think it's fun to look through my 1980 Bayless Racing catalog. How times have changed.

It hasn't gotten any less fun with the modern catalogs. iPd also has some good ones for RWD Volvos.
