In all seriousness, the plural of Jalopy is Jalopies. I'm sure you're aware that Jalopy + Beatnik = Jalopnik. It has a better ring to it than "Hooptiehipster".

I can't tell whether you're kidding or not but people on Jalopnik are called Jalops and the cars are called Jalopies ("Jalopy" singular), assuming they're beat up cars that require constant attention.
