The Rekord and such are awesome, but the Diplomat ain't that big either :)

Indeed they are rarely mentioned, but I love those cars. They were so optimistic. Back in the day the USA was the leading country in the world and I like it that the european brand at the time translated that aspirational style to smaller cars. For some reason they seem joyous.

Joyous indeed :) I hope you've seen the Japanese cars from that time as well?? Nissan and Toyota made som pretty epic cars back then.

Yeah I like those as well. They seem to harken back to a time when the world was in a way completely different. Funny, that, because for instance Bob Dylan songs from the same time are still current. I like that contrast. And what I like even more is that the Opels and Fords from that time are quite affordable in the netherlands. The japanese cars not so much.
