This was one of my favorite racing games when I was a kid - I only had a Nintendo 64, so NASCAR 99 was the only other sim-racer I had. Granted, I wasn't very good at it and only just found out what all of the game's cars are, but I still loved it anyhow; nostalgia for it was what made me pick up DiRT 3 for the PS3.

Find this on Amazon/ebay. Best rally game since Richard Burns (make sure it's a Euro copy, not Japanese)

I remember that game had some insanely touchy handling. Before we even knew what oversteer was my friends and I would reference this game whenever a car in any videogame was badly misbehaving. It also featured one of the first livery editors (on a console at least).

Is there something special about #2 in the Milestone WRC saga because they're up to WRC 4 now. I've only played 3 myself.

I don't remember there being a livery editor, but I do agree about the handling - I think it contributed to my frustrations with the powersliding license tests.

On the XBox side, the console I have, 2 is the only one that isn't region blocked on North American consoles. Not sure if that holds true on Playstation as well.
