Think about it! You could have hot water ready for you as soon as you come home from work/school! So much easy tea making! Though it does cost $170 so I guess I'll stick with my normal $70 insanely fast electric kettle.

Just get a wifi plug and plug your kettle into that. They go for 30-50 bucks.

My electric kettle is already faster than I need it to be. The water is hot before I've finished washing a mug and deciding which tea to drink.

Now here is a cool technology I invested in last year - my pool and spa heater is connected to my WIFI. I can turn on the spa heater before leaving work and have it hot by the time I get there. Really awesome.

The best part is if you forget to fill it up in the morning it turns into a remote self destruct function for your home.

Yeah, I have two electric kettles and I think that a WeMo type switch is probably a better investment. But I am working on a more elegant solution.
