... and the announcers said that "formula one at the moment is like going from the vinyl record era into the digital download era, while missing out on the CD age." That's a bit unfair I think because we have had KERS and cow-catcher front wings and tiny little rear wings and slicks for awhile here, and that seems like a transitional phase. Also, are we calling the previous generation vinyl? Does that make the V10s wax cylinders? Weren't they more technologically advanced than anything else? And waaayy faster?
I think the lesson is that when you have airtime to fill, a little speaking must be done out of the arse.

Vinyls sound better than digital downloads?

If we are talking mp3, yes, definitely yes! Cd vs vinyl is a different story... While it's clear that vinyl can, in theory, store more information, what sounds better normally dwpends on what they mastered it primarily for.

I have, yes. My question was actually supposition as to how the metaphor of Vinyl and Digital downloads fits to F1 and playing on the commonly held belief that the Digital Downloads/Turbo V6's are audibly inferior.
ut it seems that went over your head because I worded it terribly.

sorry, I worded that terribly. I was answering a question with a question.
I'm aware of the audio quality, I was suggesting (in fluent Australian) that is why the V8's and V10's sound better than the Turbo V6's, because they're Vinyl.
