So next month I will be in the LA area attending the Long Beach Grand Prix and a few other stops I have planned. One of those stops is the Lakers-Grizzlies on April 13 at the Staples Center. Now I will be getting around in a rental car but I imagine finding parking for this event won't be an easy task. Any LA area Jalops have any tips or suggestions? Is it possible to find parking there at a reasonable price or should I avoid it completely? Nearby areas to park and walk a few blocks? Any good public transit alternatives like a Park and Ride for the Metro? Thanks in advance!

I'm fairly familiar with LA. Any answers depend on where you're staying.

I'm staying in the Pico Rivera area right off the I-5 but I will probably be in the Long Beach area still at the Grand Prix before heading there.

Then you're in luck! The LA Metro Blue Line runs direct from Downtown Long Beach to a block from the Staples Center. The line has seven free unsecured park-and-ride lots along its route. If you want secure parking, I would spend $5 to park at Los Angeles Union Station for the day and take the train from there.

Awesome! This basically solves this problem for me! I can just hop on the Blue Line and ride a few stops there! Thanks a bunch!
