Not sure about the Toyota connection, but yes Tommykaira started out by tuning a couple of Mercedes-Benz vehicles and then focused on JDM cars.

According to Wiki, it's Subaru and Nissan. Though I swear I thought you could get an MR2 done-up by TK in one of the Gran Turismo games?

I only researched this as i am from Norfolk UK, and was very much excited by this news, but no, alas they are a Tokyo based company. sad times in norfolk :(
