I just had a co-worker ask me, "If someone gave you an Aztec to drive with all the gas paid for, would you drive it till it didn't run anymore as YOUR ONLY CAR"? and I said...
HELL YES!
![]() 03/27/2014 at 10:54 |

Yup! And I'd drive it hard.
![]() 03/27/2014 at 10:55 |

I'd drive it just to be a sarcastic asshole.
![]() 03/27/2014 at 10:55 |

Well I mean that probably wouldn't be a very long time so sure.
![]() 03/27/2014 at 10:56 |

Yes. More money for motorcycles.

If that was the only thing I could ever drive? NO THANKS.

"only car" excludes project cars actually being driven for an unpredictable amount of time, and taking care of the Aztek, that period might be an interminable decade or more. I vote no.

10/10 would hoon
Seriously, if it's free, and with free fuel.
EVERYWHERE. OFF ROAD. FULL THROTTLE. ALL THE TIME.
BECAUSE STAGE RALLY
Stipulation: If by "only car" you mean that I don't drive my car until the Aztek is kaput. Don't want to sell my precious...

But wait, if it's going to be my only car, that means I need to get rid of the cars I already have. I don't want to do that.

only if it was this one:

he said I can keep my other stuff in the garage, hypothetically
![]() 03/27/2014 at 11:05 |

No.
Not that I dislike the Aztec, but it's not a car that I would want to have as an only car, even if it was free.
I'd maybe take it more literally than I should: drive it fora year or so, saving up money, then ramp it off something and break the wheels off.

Nope Nope Nope. Quality of life and all that.

I always kind of liked the Aztek... in that "it's so ugly it's cool" kind of way. I really liked the Element too.

Turn those cars into "art" until the Aztec dies. Then in 2045 your Phaeton will be the best around.
![]() 03/27/2014 at 11:09 |

Considering that this means I'd have about $350/month more in my pocket, "HELL YES" sums it up nicely.
![]() 03/27/2014 at 11:12 |

No way! I'd rather spend the money on gas and enjoy driving. We spend to much time driving to be miserable doing so.
Thats like someone saying here's a cheap pair of shoes I bought at walmart for $15. They are really uncomfortable so I'm giving them away for free. Would you pick those over some comfortable New Balance?
![]() 03/27/2014 at 11:12 |

no. as my daily sure, but as my only car, no.
![]() 03/27/2014 at 11:13 |

In 2045, all the air will have leaked from the struts, and my Phaeton will be sitting on the ground.
![]() 03/27/2014 at 11:13 |

I think I'd rather catch Chlamydia, Breaking Bad reference or no.
Either that or deliberately loosen the wheel bolts so the end came sooner.
![]() 03/27/2014 at 11:13 |

YES DEFINITELY! I would drive just about anything if all expenses were paid(ARE YOU LISTENING STUPID COMPANY I WORK FOR?). the good part about the Aztec is that realistically you would only have it for 3-5 years until its kaput if it would even last that long. like another poster said it's so ugly that it's cool. I actually know 2 people that had bought one brand new. one was a chiropractor(olive green in color) and the other was the mayor(red in color) of the small town I lived in at the time.

So, basically, TIME WILL HAVE STANCED YOUR RIDE
You see, by 2045, stancing will be "in" again. It's cyclic.

I proudly love the Aztec so if anybody offered this to me I would more than happily take it. I'll even do something on the internet about living with it constantly.
![]() 03/27/2014 at 11:18 |

Damn you all, now I'm thinking of buying an old Aztec instead of a pretty newer more reliable car.
![]() 03/27/2014 at 11:21 |

damn, that is some real hatred right there!
![]() 03/27/2014 at 11:26 |

LOL
![]() 03/27/2014 at 11:29 |

You can routinely detail your art, which would include maintenance items such as driving it.
![]() 03/27/2014 at 11:37 |

I don't hate the Aztec per se. I'm actually impressed by how it did something massively different.
It's just really not my kind of car, and being consigned to it for 20 years sounds like purgatory to me :)
![]() 03/27/2014 at 11:55 |
|
I suppose I'd give it a try, at least... But there's no way I'm driving that thing for years on end.
![]() 03/27/2014 at 13:22 |

Is it manual? If so, yes. If you get tired of it you can always just sit on redline or power downshift to first going 60 mph.
![]() 03/27/2014 at 13:43 |
|
Yes. As long as I could do some strange engine swap and still get the gas money.
![]() 03/27/2014 at 13:43 |

northstar all the way...
![]() 03/27/2014 at 13:50 |

You know me too well. Wait, how do you know that!?
![]() 03/27/2014 at 13:52 |

I don't know why everyone is saying "for 20 years" or "a decade". Cars I own don't last anywhere near that long. Not even close.

Hell Yeah!!!! If it was something I liked more I would drive it till the wheel fell off, then I would put the wheels back on and drive again!!!
