Several sources are reporting this morning that a 1969 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 428 Cobra Jet, belonging to the late Larry Brown, has been found after sitting for over 40 years. This vehicle is apparently one of only one thousand that share it's designation.
The rare vehicle has only 8,531 miles, and has retained all of it's original parts. Upgraded tires are the only piece of the car that was not installed at the factory. It is believed that it was at that factory that the car received it's only bath, because Larry claimed to have never washed it out of fear of damaging the paint. Surely, it will be treated to a restorative detail to bring back the shine it had back in 1969.
The car will be sold at auction by R. Gilligan Auctions on April 25, 2014. The car was bought for only $5,245.97 in 1969, or about $33,560 in 2014 after calculating for inflation. It will undoubtedly be bought for more at auction, with early speculation calling for a $100,000+price tag.

Wow! In that condition it's hard to believe that's a barn find.
