In Indonesia, if you got 35k USD laying arround and want a hot hatchback, you can choose an Peugeot 208 GTI, Focus ST, Clio RS, or used 2012 Golf R. Which one did you pick?

I think me myself i'll go with Golf R and hope there's nothing get wonky.

I'd go with the Golf R, get the APR flash, and use the "special trick" to turn off Traction Control all the way.

Golf R or Focus ST. I'd love to do the Pug or Clio since they're not available here, but they seem to be a bit off the pace.

Focus ST.

The 208 GTi is great, but a segment smaller and (in Europe) far cheaper than the Focus. The new Clio just doesn't do it for me, plus it's automatic only. The Golf R is fine I'd guess, but I prefer my VAG vehicles to be from the 20th century and preferably not the 90s either. The newer ones lack character.

yeah.

Especially the pug. But i kinda like it, because it's quite hard to distinguish between the standard Pug and the GTI

Hate to be the guy that ignores the options on the table but I feel like if you are spending $35k on a hot hatch you are doing it wrong. I would go buy the cleanest VW MK1 Rabbit/Golf GTI. It is still the gold standard by which nearly all other hot hatches are compared. And you would have $25k left over to buy more awesome cars.

MK 3 Clio RS 200, but I am biased. I have one and I love it! Doesn't even feel like FWD

Well, i guess the pug is a bit overpriced then. At least it's not greatly overpiced like a Megane RS (in here we pay a whopping 80k for that thing. 30k more than the RCZ/Cooper S)
